Nutrition for one. How many grams of protein does your body require for optimal muscle growth, how many calories should you be eating in a day and what are the best foods for you to eat ? Then there's the small matter of exercise. Strength training is a non-negotiable with many variables to be considered when designing a balanced programme, all of which need to be carefully calculated and regularly manipulated to ensure ongoing progression. Exercise selection and rotation is of course crucial. Then there is knowing the optimal number of reps and sets to perform and with what weight. How many days to allow for recovery and when and how to most effectively increase the overall volume of your training program. Which is another nonnegotiable if you want to continue to make progress in the gym.
Fortunately none of this is as complex as you might think,
however, , you will still need the help of a fitness professional to select the right combination of these variables and more to build the perfect program for you to achieve your goals. With traditional face to face personal training you are paying for the trainers time. £50 per hour 3 to 4 sessions per week is unnecessarily expensive.
